HDR TV and Yahoo mail

It’s still a bit early to buy a new UHD / 4K TV. If you really need one, go ahead but there is at least one standard that has not yet been established. In addition to the superior resolution of the newer screens, the manufacturers have added High Dynamic Range (HDR). That makes the blacks darker and the colors richer. But, there are two standards, one from Dolby and the other an open standard. The Dolby system seems to be gaining more market share. When you are looking at the Smart TV remember the manufacturer is focused on the TV set itself and not so much on the “Smart” software. If you need a Smart TV, it’s worth looking at an external set top box such as the Roku, Chromecast or Amazon Fire TV. I would look for 4K/UHD capability with any of those sets. Remember that 4K/UHD requires a lot of bandwidth to stream those high resolutions movies. If you have DSL, you most likely will never see streaming 4K.

Yahoo was purchased by Verizon and the transition has begun. There will be some minor changes. Here is a link to those changes: https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/email-support/KM1181338. Email accounts will NOT change.
